About Us

The Grange Equestrian Centre is owned by The Plaister Charity (Registered Charity No. 1175106), an equine welfare charity dedicated to the preservation and welfare of Crabbet Arabian horses, and operated by its wholly owned subsidiary, The Grange Equestrian Centre Ltd.

The centre is led by a dedicated team of trustees, staff and volunteers who share a passion for equestrianism and a commitment to providing a welcoming, professional environment for riders and horse owners of all levels across Devon and the wider South West.

As a charity-owned venue, everything we do at The Grange is guided by our values of welfare, inclusivity and excellence. All income generated by the centre directly supports the work of the charity.

Mark brings decades of business leadership and equine insight to support the heritage of Crabbet. Preserving vital historical treasures alongside the living treasures - the horses carrying the original bloodlines of the desert that founded the Crabbet Stud of Lady Anne and Wilfrid Scawen Blunt in 1878- is essential to ensure this remarkable history is not lost to future generations.

Volunteers

The Grange simply would not function without our volunteers. From stewarding competitions and managing warmup arenas, to setting courses, checking passports, and keeping the yard running safely on event days, they are the backbone of everything we do. Then there’s decorating, gardening and more!

Their contribution goes far beyond what is visible on the day. Many give up weekends and early mornings to ensure every competitor and visitor has the best possible experience. Because The Grange is owned and operated by The Plaister Charity, every hour volunteered directly supports our charitable mission, sustaining a venue that exists not for profit, but for the benefit of the equestrian community and the welfare of horses.

We are enormously grateful to everyone who gives their time, and we are always looking to grow our team.
