Michele brings a wealth of skills to the charity, drawn from a long and distinguished career as a Senior Police Officer. Her experience across leadership, governance, risk and operational management equips her exceptionally well for the many facets of running both a charity and the trading business that supports it.

Living just minutes from The Grange in the village of Sampford Courtenay, with a smallholding, three horses and 39 rare-breed sheep, it is fair to say that The Plaister Charity found a trustee who is very much at home in this world.
A retired Senior Police Officer with Devon and Cornwall Police, the skills and values developed over a long career in public service translate directly into the work of the charity. Professionalism, integrity, clear communication, analytical decision-making and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure are qualities that policing demands and that good governance equally requires.
Beyond the professional background, there is a genuine commitment to community. Currently Chair of both Sampford Courtenay Parish Council and Lyd Valley Riding Club, and a previous trustee of community sport charity CATS, Michele brings a well-established track record of voluntary leadership and service.
At The Grange, the focus is on supporting governance, financial administration and day-to-day management, bringing practical skills in budget management, planning and reporting to help the team continue its remarkable progress. Being part of a team that has achieved so much in such a short space of time is genuinely exciting, with real enthusiasm for what The Grange and The Plaister Charity can become for horses, riders and the wider community of Devon and the South West.
